Clotilde Davenne, winemaker

E-mail Print PDF
Clotilde DAVENNE has been the winemaker of a big producer in Chablis during 17 years.
She knows all the nuances of the terroir vineyard of northern Burgundy and knows how to let the wines expression through the different grape varieties like Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Aligoté, and Sauvignon.

She takes care now of her own vineyard, and her own wines: Clotilde DAVENNE / LES TEMPS PERDUS .

Les Temps Perdus in french means "spare time". In the past, many years ago, during the last century or even may be before, when vineyard's workers had spare time, they took away the big stones of Kimmeridgien out of the field to place them in the same area, and they gave the name"Les Temps perdus"to this special area.

Clotilde DAVENNE planted her first vineyard there and she chose this nice and typical name for her wine compagny.

The style of the wine Clotilde vinifies is in pure expression of JurassicTerroir. The vinification is without oak to preserve the typicity of the unique combinaison soil-terroir-climate / grape variety.
